Find Relief From Raynaud’s with Chiropractic

raynauds arbor vitae chiropractic 2.jpg

Raynaud’s is a rare disorder affecting the blood vessels that can cause not only fingers and toes to become discolored, but can also lead to a tingling sensation and pain.  Mild symptoms of Raynaud’s may cause just one or a few fingers or toes to turn white or blue, but more severe cases can be extremely painful.  There is not a lot of information available as to what causes Raynaud’s, but one thing we are learning is how to better manage symptoms.  Chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor is one of the most effective ways to improve blood flow and decrease symptoms of Raynaud’s to experience relief.

About Raynaud’s Syndrome

Raynaud’s Syndrome most commonly affects those in colder climates.  It is also more prominent in women over the age of 30.  Raynaud’s Syndrome seems to be found more in colder climates because of the fact that it is a disorder of the blood vessels, and cold weather causes blood vessels to restrict more than normal and affects proper blood flow.  It is the lack of blood flow that leads to these Raynaud’s attacks and causes fingers and toes to turn colors or become tingly and painful.  Once these attacks are over, normal circulation will usually resume.  However, in extreme circumstances, Raynaud’s can lead to sores or even tissue death.

What Can Chiropractic Care Do for Raynaud’s?

When an attack happens, simple things such as soaking hands or feet in warm water or wearing warm gloves in colder weather can help manage symptoms. But they only provide temporary relief as attacks may still occur.  Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela can provide long-lasting relief with chiropractic care that increases blood flow to decrease Raynaud’s attacks.  Spinal misalignments exacerbate Raynaud’s symptoms as misalignments further restrict blood flow.  Misalignments of the spine can also increase stress, which in turn impacts the function of the central nervous system and can lead to more attacks. When nerve function is disrupted due to spinal misalignments, the body can’t function as it should and whole-body health is impacted.  But with regular visits to Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic, proper alignment can be restored to manage Raynaud’s symptoms and provide lasting relief.

The Impact of Chiropractic Care for Others

There are many case studies that support chiropractic care for Raynaud’s Syndrome and the attacks that occur from it.  One such case study focused on a 29-year-old woman who had been affected by Raynaud’s attacks for over ten years.  After seeking chiropractic care for 11 weeks, she found her neurological functions vastly improved and her symptoms of Raynaud’s significantly decreased.

If you or someone you love has been affected by Raynaud’s Syndrome, there is relief available with chiropractic care.  Schedule a consultation with Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic to improve the function of the central nervous system and whole-body health as well.

About Our Technique: Torque Release Technique (TRT)

our technique trt arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

At Arbor Vitae Chiropractic in Bentonville, Dr. Tom Niemela specializes in neurologically-based chiropractic care and uses the Torque Release Technique to deliver chiropractic adjustments.  This technique is different than more traditional manual thrust techniques in that spinal adjustments are delivered in a gentle, safe method using just the right amount of force while the spine is in a relaxed position.  When the spine is in proper alignment, the body is then able to function optimally as well as utilize its unique healing properties to ease pain and heal the body.

The Integrator

The Torque Release Technique (TRT) uses a unique tool called the Integrator to deliver the necessary force required to bring the spine back into alignment.  The Integrator is a handheld tool that uses torque and release to deliver pressure to the spine.  It is an innovative, effective, and science-based tool that focuses on improving the central nervous system through the use of low force thrust on the spine.  This unique tool is able to provide three-dimensional, specific, and accurate adjustments.  It is a non-invasive, no-pain technique that doesn’t use the traditional methods of cracking and popping to bring the spine back into alignment.  With this tool, Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela can get right to the source of nerve interference for improved health and overall quality of life.

What to Expect

When you schedule an initial consultation with Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic, he will first examine your spine to locate spinal misalignments. Once Dr. Tom has located the exact locations of vertebrae that are twisted, turned, or out of place, he will use the unique integrator tool to remove nerve interference that impacts the central nervous system’s function.  The pre-cocked integrator tool uses only six pounds of pressure.  When this pressure is released at 1/10,000 of a second, the tool will torque, or turn slightly to break up neurological patterns that cause spinal misalignments.  The integrator tool sends an impulse into the nerves and muscles surrounding the spine, causing them to relax and fall back into place.  It is the quickness of the tool combined with the torque and recoil that are key to the Torque Release Technique.

How Does This Impact Overall Health?

Nerve interference impacts how the brain communicates with the rest of the body.  Without proper communication, the body’s systems are thrown into chaos, leading to all sorts of issues from back or neck pain to headaches, infertility, chronic pain, along with a myriad of other health conditions.  Using TRT, Dr. Tom is able to remove nerve interference so the brain and body can function in conjunction once again, improving overall health and wellness.

Chiropractic Care and Muscle Cramps

muscle cramps arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

If you suffer from recurring, annoying, and painful muscle cramping, you are not alone.  At some point in life, an estimated 95% of all people will experience muscle cramping. For some, it simply goes away, while for others, it is frequent and more severe. There are a number of factors that can contribute to muscle cramping, such as vitamin deficiency, dehydration, or muscle strain. But when drinking more water or taking more vitamins doesn’t completely alleviate the problem, be aware that there could be bigger issues going on. Either way, a Bentonville chiropractor can help get to the root of the problem for relief from irritating and even painful muscle cramps.

Finding Muscle Cramp Relief

There are several methods for managing muscle cramping that can help to ease frequency and duration.  It could be as simple as resting from physical exercise or applying ice or heat to the cramping muscles.  But for some, this doesn’t fully take care of the issue.  For those who suffer from muscle cramping no matter what they do, they may be experiencing what is known as chronic muscle cramping.  Sometimes this can be related to overuse of the muscle, but life doesn’t often slow down and you can’t always stop and rest.  So what more can be done for muscle cramping relief?  This is where regular visits to a Bentonville chiropractor can help!

The Root Cause of Muscle Cramps

If you’ve tried fixing the problem with more water, stretching, and rest but it doesn’t work, it could be spinal misalignments that are at the center of painful muscle cramping.  Spinal misalignments, also known as subluxations, can cause tightness or nerve dysfunction that may lead to more frequent occurrences of muscle cramps.  Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela can locate spinal misalignments and gently restore proper alignment through chiropractic adjustments.  When the spine is in proper alignment, blood flow, movement, and muscle tone increase which can help decrease muscle cramping.

Muscle Cramping Case Studies

Men, women, and children alike can experience muscle cramping.  Many have found relief through regular chiropractic care.  Case studies point to chiropractic care as a means to alleviate cramping and ease the pain associated with muscle cramps.  In one such case study, an 11-year-old girl suffered from chronic allergies along with muscle cramping.  After her initial evaluation, her chiropractor noticed several spinal misalignments as well as an abnormal curvature of the spine.  After 27 visits, she was able to stop taking all medications for allergies and cramping.  Additionally, in a case study that focused on 4 children with cerebral palsy and muscle cramping, muscle cramps decreased significantly while mobility and overall function improved after undergoing going chiropractic care.

If muscle cramping has you in anguish, find relief through chiropractic care.  Contact Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic to schedule a consultation for improved mobility without the pain and frustration of muscle cramping.

The Benefits of Drinking Enough Water

benefits of drinking water arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

The body is composed primarily of water.  We lose water when we sweat, cry, drink too much alcohol, and go to the bathroom.  It is essential to our health that we replenish our water supply to avoid dehydration and declining health.  Drinking enough water each day can go a long way toward improving health and wellness for women and men alike.  During the holidays, we can get so busy that it can be easy to forget to take care of ourselves.  Prioritize drinking water as well as scheduling regular chiropractic adjustments to make sure you stay healthy all holiday season long.  Here are some of the top benefits of drinking water for your overall health.

Removes Harmful Toxins

What we eat and drink has a direct impact on the body.  Too many unhealthy foods or drinks cause toxins to build up within the body.  Drinking too much alcohol at holiday parties or indulging in too many sweets at Thanksgiving or Christmas can further contribute to toxin buildup.  Spinal misalignments also contribute to the buildup of harmful toxins.  Remove toxins from your system by removing spinal misalignments through regular chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor.  Now that the buildup of toxins has been released, we must eliminate them from the body.  This is where drinking water comes into play.  Drinking enough water every day can flush harmful toxins from the body.  Water is also great for spinal health as it keeps the discs and vertebrae of the spine lubricated and better able to function optimally.

Decreases Fatigue

The holidays are some of the happiest yet busiest times of the year.  When we don't get the rest we need, our bodies will suffer.  Fatigue is a common symptom from not getting enough rest, as well as from not drinking enough water.  The heart needs plenty of water to be able to pump blood throughout the body.  Not drinking enough water causes the heart to have to work harder, leading to bouts of fatigue.  Get plenty of rest and drink lots of water this holiday season to keep up energy levels and avoid fatigue.

Alleviates Muscle Cramping

Muscles cramps can be extremely painful and annoying.  Cramping can occur at various times, at night when you sleep or even in the middle of a workout.  Muscle cramping can be attributed to a lack of water getting to the muscles.  Muscles must stay hydrated and to do that, you must have a healthy intake of water each and every day.

Improves Health

Our body needs water to hydrate our skin, ensure proper digestion, protect our organs, produce saliva, maintain a healthy weight, and a myriad of other functions within the body.  Drinking water can improve your health.  Couple that with regular visits to Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela to remove spinal misalignments and nerve interference, and you can dramatically increase your health this holiday season and all throughout the year.

Take control of your health.  Be sure to drink lots of water and schedule your consultation with Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic.

Chiropractic Care for Tennis Elbow or Golf Elbow

tennis elbow arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

The repetitive movements of swinging a tennis racket or golf club can be the source of elbow pain known as tennis elbow or golf elbow.  Inflammation or irritation of tendons in the forearm are what cause this type of pain.  Because of the different types of swings, tennis elbow is located in the upper forearm and outside part of the elbow, while golfer’s elbow pain is located on the inside of the elbow.  The tendon affected by these conditions is called the lateral epicondyle, which helps bend the wrist and arm.  Those who suffer from tennis or golf elbow, also known as lateral epicondylitis, may experience symptoms such as trouble lifting the arm, weakness of the wrist, trouble lifting, carrying, or gripping things, or pain when bending or extending the arm.  Most of the time, this condition will go away with rest and proper care after a few weeks or so.  But if not managed appropriately, the pain can last a long time and even become chronic.  Luckily, a Bentonville chiropractor is able to address the root cause of symptoms of tennis or golf elbow for much desired relief.

Manage Elbow Pain with Chiropractic Care

For short-term relief from elbow pain related to tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow, rest is critical.  Not using the inflamed tendon allows inflammation to decrease, bringing about pain relief.   You may also reach for medicine to combat elbow pain after a game of tennis or golf. Anti-inflammatory medication could also bring some relief for a while. However, medication just masks symptoms temporarily.  Inflammation can just as easily return once you start playing tennis or golf again or stop taking the medications.  Chiropractic care from Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela seeks to get to the root of elbow pain.  Nerves play a role in inflammation and pain.  With neurologically-based chiropractic care from Dr. Niemela, spinal misalignments can be removed to decrease nerve interference and reduce inflammation throughout the body, including the elbow, so you can experience long-term relief from elbow pain.

Can Chiropractic Really Ease My Elbow Pain?

For those who are skeptical of the benefits of chiropractic care, one only needs to look at case studies to see how many have experienced relief after receiving chiropractic care.  For instance, a man who had fallen at a basketball game and hurt his elbow found a quick resolution to his elbow pain after just one adjustment from a chiropractor.  A woman in her 40s who suffered from tennis elbow pain as well as elbow pain at work from repetitive movement found relief after undergoing chiropractic care.  Her range of mobility was completely restored and her elbow pain was completely resolved.  Golfers have experienced the full effects of chiropractic care as well.  One chiropractic study focused on a man who hadn’t played golf for two years because of elbow pain.  After regular visits to a chiropractor for eight weeks, he noted that he was able to play a full 18-round game of golf without any elbow pain.

Don’t stop doing what you love because of tennis elbow pain or golf elbow pain.  Schedule your chiropractic appointment with Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic for lasting elbow pain relief.

Can Chiropractic Care Improve Behavior in Kids?

behavior in kids arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

As parents, it is our job to ensure that our children get enough sleep at night, eat right, exercise regularly, and so on.  If children don’t have these basic needs met, their development and behavior can suffer.  Children who don’t get enough sleep at night or who don’t eat a proper diet are more likely to have developmental issues, have ADHD, and experience behavioral problems.  Maybe you are trying all you can to provide a good foundation of health habits for your child, but it just doesn’t seem to be helping.  They may still be getting poor grades or having trouble with behavior. There could be an underlying issue that is contributing to their behavior.  A Bentonville chiropractor can get to the root of the problem which can positively impact your child’s behavior.

Over Medicating Is Not the Answer

Over the past few decades, parents’ frustration with their child’s behavior has led to them seeking for answers and solutions.  Many have turned to medication.  In fact, according to the CDC, of the 11% of children diagnosed with ADHD in 2012, over half of them were on medication to “control” their behaviors.  However, medications have been known to cause multiple side effects, some even harmful, such as loss of appetite, mood swings, personality changes, and tiredness.  While parents want their children to be able to behave appropriately, they certainly don't want to change who their child is or cause them harm.  Instead of turning to medication, chiropractic care from Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela is a natural, safe solution for getting to the root of underlying problems in children that can lead to behavior outbursts.

A Natural Solution for Children

The brain and spine play a crucial role in the development of children.  Even if something is a little off, it can affect their behavior.  The brain has plasticity, or the ability to learn and grow over time, if given the chance.  Spinal misalignments can cause nerve interference in children that disrupts the function of the nervous system, including the brain.  Gentle and safe adjustments from Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic will remove these misalignments to normalize brain function that can encourage other functions, such as impulse control and reasoning abilities.  Balance in the body through neurologically-based chiropractic care can have a positive impact on behavior in children, giving them the opportunity to grow and thrive.

Chiropractic Case Studies

Numerous studies have been done to show how chiropractic care can be beneficial for children.  In one such study, a five-year-old presented with problems sleeping at night and behavior problems.  After regular visits to a chiropractor, his sleep habits normalized which in turn improved his behavior.  Another study focused on multiple students of a variety of ages from elementary to high school, all of whom improved their academic skills and behavior after undergoing chiropractic care.

If your child is struggling with behavior issues, chiropractic care can address underlying issues to ensure the body and brain are functioning as they should.  Call today to schedule your appointment.

The Incredible Benefits of Chiropractic Care for Those with Alzheimer’s

alzheimers arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

If you have ever had to watch someone you love suffer from Alzheimer’s, then you are well aware of how frustrating and overwhelming this condition can be, both for the family and for those with the disease. Alzheimer’s affects every part of life, from even the simplest of tasks such as getting ready in the morning.  Alzheimer’s is a condition of the brain that affects memory and is caused by a lack of nutrients getting to the brain.  No known cure is available, but there are ways to slow down or even stop the progression of this disease.  A natural way to manage Alzheimer’s is through chiropractic care.  Visits to a Bentonville chiropractor can do wonders for those with Alzheimer’s!  You may be surprised at all the amazing benefits of chiropractic care for those who suffer from Alzheimer’s.

Who Does Alzheimer’s Affect?

November is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, and in the US, more than 5 million people suffer from symptoms of the disease.  Alzheimer’s is a disease that largely affects the elderly, specifically those over the age of 60, although there are some cases of Alzheimer’s in people 50 and under.  It significantly impacts memory, thinking abilities, and normal patterns of behavior that can be devastating for the older generation.  This disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. and the elderly population has seen an even bigger increase in signs of dementia over the past few decades.  We know the answer to Alzheimer’s lies in the brain, but what exactly can be done to slow down or stop this disease?  This is where neurologically-based chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor plays a significant role.

What Role Does Chiropractic Play in Slowing Down Alzheimer’s?

Medications may help decrease Alzheimer’s symptoms for a time, but it is only a temporary fix as symptoms return without medication in the system.  Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic focuses on improving the function of the central nervous system naturally and long-term by focusing on spinal health.  Spinal misalignments can disrupt nerve communication between the brain and the body, leading to all kinds of problems, including worsening symptoms of Alzheimer’s.  But when the spine is in proper alignment, the brain and body can communicate properly and effectively.  The necessary nutrients, such as glucose (which many Alzheimer’s patients are lacking), can get to the brain to decrease symptoms and slow down the progression of this disease.  Gentle adjustments from Dr. Niemela will restore spinal alignment so the body can function at higher levels of health.

What Does the Research Say?

Chiropractic research is promising for those affected by Alzheimer’s.  In one case study, a 54 year old male with signs of dementia and decreased cognitive motor control underwent chiropractic care after not being able to remember how to perform simple tasks such as writing a check.  After receiving regular chiropractic care, his musculoskeletal function improved and further memory loss was prevented.

If a loved one is suffering from Alzheimer’s, chiropractic care can help.  Schedule a consultation with Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic to find out more about the benefits of ongoing chiropractic care for those you love.

Chiropractic Care Is an Alternative to Opioids for Pain

opioids arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

The opioid epidemic across the US has reached an all-time high in recent years.  In fact, recent statistics state that approximately 1,000 people each day are treated in emergency rooms for opioid use.  Opioids are so addictive that one in four peopl prescribed opioids for pain will struggle with addiction.  Despite the addictive properties of opioids, they still continue to be prescribed regularly for chronic pain.  It is also common practice to prescribe opioids such as hydrocodone or methadone for pain following a surgical procedure.  However, because of the rising awareness of opioid addiction, many people are asking if there are other non-drug options for addressing pain.  Research suggests that chiropractic care is an alternative to opioid use that can alleviate all types of pain, including musculoskeletal pain.  Regular visits to a Bentonville chiropractor may be just as powerful as opioids but without the risk of addiction.

Non Addictive, Non Drug Options for Pain Management

Chronic pain can be an unbearable type of pain that can disrupt every part of your life.  Those who experience back pain, the most common type of pain, or any other type of pain can attest to the fact that they desire nothing more than relief.  But opioids are not the answer.  The problem with opioids is that they don’t just block pain, but they also create a sense of euphoria that users enjoy and find addictive.  Over time, more and more opioids are needed to create this sense of euphoria, which leads to dependence.  Just one experience with opioid pain medication has caused many people who have otherwise led normal lives and held normal jobs to become an addict.  Thankfully, there are natural and safe non-drug options that provide relief from pain, including chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor.

Alleviate Pain with Chiropractic Care

With all the research surrounding opioid addiction, leading healthcare professionals are now drawing more attention to non-drug options for managing all types of musculoskeletal pain.  Those who take advantage of non-drug pain management options, including chiropractic care, are 49% less likely to turn to opioid use than those who don’t.  Unlike prescription medications such as opioids, chiropractic care seeks to treat the root cause of pain, not just cover up the symptoms, and there are no risks of chiropractic care.  Spinal misalignments disrupt the function of the central nervous system, causing nerve interference that can wreak havoc on the body.  Gentle adjustments from Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic will remove spinal misalignments and interference so that the body can function at high levels of health, eliminating the root cause of pain.  With this holistic approach to healthcare, there is a 64%-90% reduction in prescribing opioids for pain management as well as a 28x reduction rate in the need for spinal surgery.

When discussing options for pain management, be sure to talk to Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic for a non-pharmaceutical solution to chronic pain.  Schedule your appointment today.

Chiropractic Care for Women’s Health

womens health arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

Are you pregnant for the first time or a mom whose busy schedule keeps her running around all the time? Are you a grandma trying to keep up with her grandkids or a retired woman spending your days on hobbies that you love?  Are you a young single or newly married woman who has big hopes for the future and a packed social calendar? No matter what stage in life you are in, chiropractic care can be beneficial for the health of women of all ages.  Regular visits to a Bentonville chiropractor can impact your overall health more than you may realize and keep your body functioning well so you can live life to the fullest, no matter what stage of womanhood you find yourself in.

Pregnant Women

If you are expecting, being under chiropractic care during your pregnancy is a great option for a more comfortable, healthier pregnancy.  A pregnant belly can put a lot of pressure on a woman’s back, causing her to be uncomfortable or in pain.  Back pain from pregnancy can also affect sleep.  A Bentonville chiropractor can remove spinal misalignments to eliminate pain for a comfortable pregnancy throughout every trimester.  It’s not just moms that benefit, but babies also.  Labor can be long and difficult, but chiropractic care has been shown to reduce labor time, making birth easier on both mom and baby.  Women who have undergone regular chiropractic care throughout their pregnancy are also less likely to need birth interventions such as the use of a vacuum, forceps, or a C-Section when it’s time to deliver.

Elderly Women

As women get older, wear and tear over time can take a toll on the body.  Many older women suffer from joint pain, such as arthritis, that can affect their ability to get around as they once could.  Additionally, muscles can stiffen and range of motion can decrease with age.  Some older women also suffer from osteoporosis or incontinence, among other issues.  Regular visits to Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela can address all these concerns that are commonly associated with aging.  Chiropractic care is great for joint health and can slow down or even prevent arthritis pain.  It also focuses on improving the musculoskeletal system for improved range of motion, balance, and overall mobility.  Spinal misalignments cause nerve interference that can lead to problems like incontinence or chronic pain.  With gentle adjustment from Dr. Niemela, interference is removed so the central nervous system can function optimally to correct such health concerns.

Chiropractic Care for Overall Health

As women, we have different needs than men or children.  Chiropractic care can specifically address a woman’s needs to improve her overall health and wellness.  Proper hormonal balance for women is necessary for us to feel our best.  For instance, for some women, a hormonal imbalance can affect menstrual health.  Menstrual health is important to overall health as poor menstrual health can lead to pain, sickness, or infertility.  As we age, our hormones also play a large role in menopause.  Chiropractic adjustments from Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic can regulate hormone production to improve menstrual health and eventually make the menopause transition easier on the body.

While women often put their health last to take care of others, it’s time to prioritize yourself and your health so you can be at your best for those who need you. Chiropractic Care for Cluster Headaches

cluster headaches arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

Everyone, at some point in life, has experienced a headache.  Headaches are a pretty normal part of life.  But there are different types of headaches, some more severe than others, and they can be a sign that something is amiss within the body.  Cluster headaches can be more debilitating than other types of headaches. Generally, they are short, lasting anywhere from fifteen minutes up to three hours, but they are severe and begin behind or around one eye.  The pain can also travel to other places like the temples, forehead, cheek, nose, or mouth and can be described as a burning, piercing, or throbbing.  For some, cluster headaches may occur once a day, while for others it could be up to three times a day.  Thankfully, cluster headaches are rare and only affect about 1% of the population.  But if you are part of that 1%, then you understand how painful and frustrating cluster headaches can be.  Treating the root cause of cluster headaches through chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor may provide the relief you have been hoping for.

What Causes Cluster Headaches?

Cluster headaches are called cluster headaches because they usually occur in clusters, or multiples.  For instance, you may experience a headache, have relief for a while, get another headache, have relief for a bit, and then get another headache, and so the cycle continues.  There is no known cause for what contributes to cluster headaches except for a problem with the nerve that travels through the base of the brain and up into the face called the trigeminal nerve.  Medications may help relieve these intense headaches for a time, but medicine only provides short-term relief.  It’s only by getting to the root of the issue and addressing underlying nerve issues that you can truly find long-lasting relief.

Neurologically-Based Chiropractic Care

Because cluster headaches are related to the trigeminal nerve running up through the face, it only makes sense that neurologically-based chiropractic care from Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela can be the solution that gets to the core of the issue.  What may surprise you is that the actual answer to finding relief from cluster headaches could lie in the spine.  Spinal misalignments lead to pinched or compressed nerves that can be incredibly painful.  Any type of nerve interference disrupts the communication between the brain and the rest of the body.  When this occurs, it often leads to pain, such as cluster headaches.  Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic can gently adjust the spine to remove spinal misalignments, restoring proper nerve function and alleviating cluster headache pain.  Chiropractic care is both a safe and natural way to bring about long-term relief from the cycle of cluster headaches that can be so debilitating.

If you know the pain of cluster headaches and they have affected your life, then it’s time to experience relief through chiropractic care.  Contact Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic to learn more about how chiropractic care can address cluster headache pain and to schedule your first appointment.

Chiropractic Care for the Future: Healthy Children Become Healthy Adults

healthy children healthy adults arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

It’s no secret that as parents, we would do anything for our kids.  We feed them, clothe them, put them in the best schools, and do our best to keep them from harm.  What you as a parent may not have considered is the importance that spinal health plays in the overall health of your children.  The spine is literally the “backbone” of health.  But we know that children fall or bump into things regularly as they grow and play.  Trauma to the spine can lead to spinal misalignments that have a negative impact on health for your children now and when they later become adults. Regular visits to a Bentonville chiropractor improve spinal health and therefore overall health, and these visits are just as important for growing children, if not more so, as they are for adults.  The sooner we start chiropractic care, the better the outcome for our children, both now and in the future, as healthy children tend to grow up and become healthy adults.

Chiropractic Adjustments for Children

The developmental years in children are a critical time during their young lives.  We want them to develop into healthy, happy adults.  To promote a healthier childhood, consider chiropractic care.  Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela can gently and safely adjust children’s spines in order to remove nerve interference that causes dysfunction and chaos within the body.  Dr. Niemela can remove spinal misalignments that can negatively affect children’s development so these children can better function and grow into healthy adults.  Chiropractic care is even safe for young babies.  In fact, babies that don’t get adjusted may develop conditions that they will carry into adulthood.  For instance, a case study published by the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine researched the effects of congenital torticollis, or tight neck muscles, on infants.  The study found that those who had chiropractic adjustments found relief from stiff neck muscles, but those who didn’t were likely to still have neck problems into adulthood.  It’s not just infants that benefit from regular chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor.  Children are known to be clumsy and fall, trip, or run into things often.  Additionally, teenagers nowadays are usually glued to their technology, which can lead to problems such as “tech neck.”  People of all ages and especially children benefit from chiropractic care for overall health and wellness.

The Future of Our Children

Chiropractic care is not just an “extra” in addition to healthcare.  It’s a way to positively affect the current and future health of our children.  One particular case study looked at 881 children, 12 years of age average, and found significant decreases in depression, anxiety, fatigue, and pain with chiropractic care.  Invest in the future of your children with chiropractic care.  It’s never too early to start.  Contact Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic to find out more about what neurologically-based chiropractic care can do for your children and schedule your first appointment today.

Relieve Pain from Trigeminal Neuralgia Naturally

trigeminal neuralgia arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

Trigeminal Neuralgia, also known as TN, is a chronic neurological condition that can be extremely painful for those who suffer from it.  It specifically affects the 5th cranial nerve, the trigeminal, which is one of the largest nerves in the head.  It is not very common as only 12 out of 100,000 people each year are affected by this condition, but it is very painful and difficult to live with for those who are diagnosed with TN.  In fact, TN is considered by many specialists to be one of the most debilitating and painful syndromes.  When faced with such extreme pain, you may be searching for answers to provide relief.  Neurologically-based chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor can bring about this much desired relief naturally.

Symptoms of Trigeminal Neuralgia

Trigeminal Neuralgia, also called tic douloureux, can be characterized by symptoms ranging from a constant ache to shooting or stabbing pains that are similar to an electric shock.  For some, the pain may come and go intermittently while for others it can be a continuous pain.  Because the trigeminal nerve is one of the largest nerves in the head, pain can extend to every area of the face, including the lips, nose, teeth, jaw, cheeks, forehead, and scalp.  There are two types of TN, Type 1 and Type 2.  Type 1 is the most common form of Trigeminal Neuralgia in which pain is a sporadic burning or shock-like feeling that lasts for several seconds or minutes and then will vanish, only to return again later.  Type 2 TN is a more constant burning or aching pain that is less severe than Type 1.  No matter what type you suffer from, it is a mentally and physically exhausting condition that leaves many feeling powerless to combat it.  Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela works tirelessly with practice members to address the root cause of TN to alleviate conditions for relief from the painful symptoms associated with trigeminal neuralgia.

Chiropractic Care Gets to the Root of the Problem

More traditional methods of managing trigeminal neuralgia can include taking medication or perhaps surgical therapy, but these methods don’t always work.  Surgery is an invasive procedure and medications are often only a temporary fix that may also cause other harmful side effects.  Chiropractic care is both noninvasive and safe.  It also seeks to treat the root cause of TN, the trigeminal nerve.  Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic utilizes neurologically-based chiropractic care to correct spinal misalignments so the nervous system can function optimally.  The first three vertebrae of the spine are directly linked to the nerves in the head and face. Spinal misalignments can lead to chaos such as severe bouts of TN pain.  Relieving this nerve interference can decrease symptoms of TN to ease pain related to the trigeminal nerve.

Find Relief with Regular Chiropractic Care

Many people suffering from TN have found relief through regular chiropractic care.  Case studies are proof that chiropractic care really works.  One such case study focuses on a 77-year-old woman who suffered from TN for 7 years.  After just 6 adjustments she saw a vast improvement in symptoms.  After six months, she reported being pain free!  Another case study of a 57-year-old woman with TN pain found that chiropractic care significantly reduced her pain and she was able to drastically cut back on her medication.

If TN pain has you feeling defeated, find hope with chiropractic care.  Schedule an appointment with Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic today.

Are You Struggling to Nurse Your Baby? Chiropractic Can Help!

nursing difficulties arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

Like many mothers, you probably want nothing more than to give your baby the absolute best.  Breastfeeding is a natural and healthy option for your baby and probably one of the best things you can do for him or her, as it provides essential nutrients, promotes digestion, and helps with the baby's development. But even moms with the best intentions can struggle to nurse their baby. While seeking advice from other moms or even professional help from lactation consultants can be beneficial, it may not address the root cause of nursing problems, leaving you back at square one and feeling as frustrated as ever. But before giving up, consider chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor. What many moms don’t know is that spinal misalignments in babies can cause chaos within the body, including difficulties nursing.

What Causes Nursing Struggles to Begin With?

Nursing isn’t always as easy as it seems. Unforeseen troubles can cause lead to frustration and feelings of failure when trying to nurse your baby. For instance, some babies may have trouble latching on to the breast, while others may be able to latch but struggle to suck. Babies may also prefer one side to another which can cause problems for mom, such as engorgement or lack of supply. If you are experiencing troubles nursing, know that you are not alone. Before throwing in the towel, see what chiropractic care can do for you and your little one. Dr Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic can help by providing natural, safe, and neurologically-based chiropractic care.

Breastfeeding and Spinal Misalignments

Spinal misalignments can cause a slew of health issues for both moms and babies.  Because the spine is key to the function of the central nervous system, any misalignment can cause nerve interference that can wreak havoc on the body.  Passing through the birth canal can cause spinal misalignments in babies.  A traumatic birth of any kind, such as the use of a vacuum or forceps or other birthing interventions to deliver baby, almost always results in misalignments of the spine.  These misalignments can lead to troubles latching or sucking, and they can also cause the baby to only want to turn their head one way and not the other, which is why they may prefer a certain side when eating.  Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Niemela has worked with many women who have experienced frustration with breastfeeding, and he always works to correct spinal misalignments and ease nursing struggles for moms and babies through gentle and safe chiropractic adjustments.

Chiropractic Benefits Nursing Mothers

For years, chiropractors have studied the effects of chiropractic care for improving health and wellness, including nursing infants.  Case studies show the incredible benefits others have experienced from undergoing regular chiropractic care.  One such case study found that an 8-day-old baby who struggled to nurse because of latching problems and an inability to suck properly had several spinal misalignments.  After receiving regular chiropractic care, nursing difficulties were dissolved and the overall breastfeeding experience significantly increased for both mom and baby.

If you are struggling to nurse, find out more about how chiropractic care can help improve your breastfeeding experience.  Contact Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic to set up an appointment so that you can enjoy every moment with your little one.

What Can Chiropractic Do For Tourette’s Syndrome and Tics?

Tourette’s syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes tics or sudden involuntary and repetitive movements or sounds.  Tics can include movements such as rapid eye blinking or jerking of the head or neck, while vocalizations may be sniffing, throat clearing, or grunting sounds. The first signs of Tourette’s syndrome usually begin to manifest themselves in childhood from between the ages of 5 and 7. By the ages of 8 to 12, tics become and more and more noticeable.  In fact, over 300,000 children across the country today suffer from Tourette’s syndrome.  Not many adults carry tics over into adulthood, leading researchers to wonder what the root cause of tics is and why it affects only certain children.  Some studies suggest that Tourette’s syndrome may be genetic, while other studies show that childhood trauma, such as injury to the neck or spine, may lead to an increased risk of Tourette’s.  So what can be done to manage Tourette’s syndrome and tics?  Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela may be able to help.

About Tourette’s and Other Related Conditions

Tics can be associated with Tourette’s or sometimes they can be an issue all their own.  All Tourette’s sufferers experience tics, but not all those who have tics also have Tourette’s.  Some tic disorders just consist of one tic.  Tourette’s, on the other hand, can be characterized by several tics over a longer period of time.  Children with Tourette’s will often times have other health conditions in conjunction with Tourette’s, such as ADHD or OCD.  These conditions have been known to go hand in hand with Tourette’s syndrome and can make a living with Tourette’s even more challenging.  Medications can help with both tics and Tourette’s, as well as other related conditions for a short time, but it is never a long-term solution as it does not deal with the root cause of the issue.

Neurologically-Based Chiropractic Care

Because Tourette’s is a neurological disorder, it makes sense that neurologically-based chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor can be an effective solution that gets to the root cause of Tourette’s and tics.  By improving spinal alignment and spinal health, Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic is also improving the function of the central nervous system.  Spinal misalignments can cause nerve interference that disrupts communication between the brain and the rest of the body.  When spinal misalignments are removed, the central nervous system can function optimally, which can then reduce the severity and frequency of tics and improve overall quality of life.

Can Chiropractic Work for Me?

Research supports chiropractic care for managing symptoms of Tourette’s and individual tics. One case study focused on a 15-year-old boy who had suffered from Tourette’s syndrome for 10 years, along with migraines, ADHD, OCD, and behavioral and learning disorders.  Over a period of 19 weeks of regular chiropractic care, his list of 21 concerns diminished down to just 2.  His tics decreased significantly, his headaches were gone, and his vision and other conditions improved drastically.

Chiropractic care is a natural and safe solution that gets to the root cause of Tourette’s syndrome for long-lasting results.  To get started today, contact Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic.

Does the Webster Technique Work for Breech Babies?

breech babies webster arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

A breech baby is when a baby in utero is turned the wrong way and is not in the proper positioning to make its way through the birthing canal.  Breech babies can be buttocks or feet first instead of head down. If a baby is breech up until the time of delivery, a normal, vaginal birth is typically not possible.  In earlier stages of pregnancy, doctors will monitor the baby’s positioning in hopes that it will correct itself.  But by the 34th week of pregnancy, something must be done to turn a breech baby or else a C-section may be necessary at delivery.

Turning a Breech Baby

By 34 weeks, approximately 4% of babies are still in the breech position. Approximately 13% of all C-sections performed are because a baby is still breech.  Birthing interventions like C-sections are sometimes medically necessary, but the best and less invasive option for both mom and baby would be for baby to transition into the right position for a vaginal delivery. Babies can move into the proper birthing position after 34 weeks but are less likely to turn during the last part of the 3rd trimester.  Doctors have methods for turning a breech baby in the hopes to get them face down before delivery.  They use a method called ECV, or External Cephalic Version.  This method involves applying intense pressure to the womb in the hopes that this pressure will force the baby to flip.  But this method can be extremely painful for mom and traumatic for the baby.  Not to mention it only works part of the time and there is no guarantee of success.  If you are late in pregnancy and have a baby in the breech position, consider safer, less invasive methods for turning him or her, such as chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor.

About the Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is a technique utilized by chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic.  This technique was first developed by Dr. Larry Webster with his daughter in mind.  She has previous undergone a very traumatic birth experience in which her baby was breech.  Dr. Webster realized that spinal misalignments can play a significant role in the baby’s position in the womb.  He practiced the Webster Technique on pregnant women and noticed that many babies who were previously breech would turn on their own accord into the ideal head-down position before birth.  Because of his research, the Webster Technique has become one of the leading methods for turning a breech baby for a better birthing experience for mom and baby.

What Does the Webster Technique Do?

This primary goal of this chiropractic technique is to remove spinal misalignments and alleviate pressure on the uterus.  When vertebrae of the spine are twisted, turned, or out of place, it can place unwanted pressure on the uterus, limiting space in the womb.  But removing spinal misalignments can relieve the pressure and allow the baby room to move about, including turning into the vertex position for delivery.  Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela will gently adjust the sacrum to align the spine and pelvis of the mom, which creates optimal space in the womb for the baby to turn as necessary. The success rate for turning a breech baby with the Webster Technique is high, sometimes as high as 92%! With regular chiropractic care throughout pregnancy, moms can experience increased comfort, provide more room for their baby in the womb, decrease the likelihood of a C-section, and have an easier and faster delivery.

If your baby is breech, chiropractic care is a noninvasive, safe, and gentle method for turning a breech baby.  Schedule an appointment with Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic for optimal results.

Chiropractic Care Is Most Effective with Time and Repetition

time and repetition arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

Think of all the things you love to do in life.  Most of them are going to require time and repetition to excel.  For example, learning to make a jump shot in basketball requires time and repetition in practice to perfect.  It requires training the body to learn the exact motions that bring about success.  If you love to draw or paint, again, this requires devoting time and repetition in order to train your brain how to create art with precision and accuracy. This concept is applicable to all areas of your life, and it applies to chiropractic care and complete healing as well. The body also requires time and repetition to create good spinal form and for the central nervous system to function optimally. A visit to a Bentonville chiropractor can improve spinal health, but continual chiropractic care ensures you get the most of the amazing health benefits that chiropractic care has to offer.

How Does It Work?

Our bodies become accustomed to what they are used to, meaning that if the spine is used to being in a certain position, it will remain in that position until forced to do otherwise.  It is only with time and repetition that we can retrain the spine to stay in proper alignment and create new and healthier connections between the brain and the rest of the body through the spinal cord.  Spinal misalignments wreak havoc on the function of the central nervous system.  One chiropractic adjustment may help for a bit, but over time, the spine will move out of alignment once again because that is what it is used to.  But just like every time you practice a new skill and it builds upon each previous time, each chiropractic adjustment from Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela is working toward creating proper spinal alignment for better and healthier spinal alignment.  The more we improve our spinal health, the more our overall health and wellness will improve, too.

Regular Visits Are Most Effective

The more often we practice a skill, the faster we are likely to learn and improve upon this skill.  In the same way, the more often we go to our chiropractic visits with Dr. Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic, the faster the body is able to remember what it should be doing and the longer it is able to hold the adjustments for improved spinal alignment.  Large gaps between adjustments can have adverse effects, so it is important to abide by the care plan assigned to you based on Dr. Niemela’s recommendations. Regular visits ensure that the body is learning and readjusting as needed so that proper spinal alignment becomes the new habit.  With time and repetition, the body will begin to increase its ability to selfheal and nerve communication between the body’s systems will drastically improve so that you will begin to experience optimal health and function.

Schedule Your Regular Chiropractic Visits with Arbor Vitae Chiropractic

Recent case studies show the effectiveness of repetitive chiropractic care over time.  In one such case study, several individuals underwent chiropractic care for chronic back pain.  Many experienced relief from regular chiropractic care and were highly satisfied with their results.  You, too, can find relief from pain or see significant improvements in your health when you schedule regular visits with Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela.  Call today to set up your first appointment and see long-lasting results from improved spinal health when you embrace the time and repetition to reap the benefits of regular chiropractic care at Arbor Vitae Chiropractic.

Seek Chiropractic Care After a Slip and Fall Accident

slip and fall accident arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

Unfortunately, there is simply no way to prepare for a slip and fall accident.  Falls can happen suddenly and come out of nowhere.  A slip and fall accident can be minor or quite detrimental, causing injury and pain for many days or weeks.  More serious slip and fall accidents can cause immediate and noticeable injuries such as strains, sprains, bruising, or even broken bones.  But sometimes injuries from a slip and fall accident aren’t noticeable right away.  It may not be until days later that you experience some side effects from a slip and fall, such as headaches, numbness and tingling of the extremities, or other musculoskeletal pain.  Chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor can be beneficial for healing after a slip and fall accident, whether you notice any significant injuries right away or not.

Pain Caused By Slip and Fall Accidents

Any type of pain means that something is wrong with the body.  If you experience pain after a slip and fall accident, it is important that you listen to your body and seek the necessary care.  Musculoskeletal pain such as tenderness or bruising are not to be ignored.  In fact, ignoring pain after a slip and accident may only make matters worse.  Pain that is not dealt with may worsen or even become chronic.  Thankfully, Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela specializes in alleviating pain through chiropractic care.  Your first reaction after a slip and fall accident might be to reach for medication, and while this can provide short-term relief, it doesn’t fix the underlying problem that resulted from the fall.  Chiropractic care seeks to treat the root cause of pain so that you can see long-lasting results.

Some Experience an Increased Risk of Slip and Fall Accident

Anyone can experience a slip and fall accident, but the elderly have a higher risk of slipping and falling.  As we get older, our bodies experience normal wear and tear.  Many elderly people have poor balance or decreased musculoskeletal strength due to aging.  Those who suffer from vertigo may also have an increased chance of slipping and falling.  Vertigo is an inner ear problem that causes dizziness and unsteadiness on your feet, which could lead to falling.  Job environment can be a factor in slip and fall accidents as well.  If you work a job where surfaces are often wet, this could increase chances of falling.  If you are at a higher risk of a slip and fall accident, Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic can improve overall function of the body to decrease your chances of suffering from a fall.

Chiropractic Care for Healing

If you have suffered from a fall or are worried about falling, chiropractic care can help.  Chiropractic care improves musculoskeletal and joint health for better balance and improved overall mobility to prevent slip and fall accidents from happening in the first place.  Gentle adjustments correct spinal misalignments that are the root cause of vertigo or dizziness to also decrease the risk of slipping and falling.  But if you already have suffered from a slip and fall accident, chiropractic care can still provide relief.  A slip and fall accident can cause spinal misalignments that keep your body from healing as it should.  Dr. Tom Niemela can remove spinal misalignments through chiropractic adjustments for a faster relief and a full recovery after an injury from a fall.  Chiropractic care also reduces inflammation as well as pressure on the spine, back, or neck that can be a source of pain.  Once the spine is properly aligned, the body’s natural healing ability can function optimally so you can feel better quickly.

If you are worried about falling or have suffered a fall, Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic can help.  Set up an appointment today to experience whole body health.

Can Chiropractic Care Help with Glaucoma?

glaucoma arbor vitae chiropractic.jpg

Glaucoma is a disease of the eye and is the second leading cause of blindness.  Left untreated, glaucoma will slowly progress.  Pressure in the eye is often the root cause of glaucoma.  Lowering pressure in the eye can slow down or even completely alleviate symptoms of glaucoma, so early detection is key to managing it. What many people don’t realize and what research suggests is that chiropractic care can have positive effects for vision and can help manage this eye disease.  If you are affected by glaucoma, get in touch with a Bentonville chiropractor as soon as possible to improve your vision.

What Causes Glaucoma?

Glaucoma affects the optic nerve, a large group of nerves that connects the brain to the retina.  The function of the optic nerve is crucial to allowing the brain to interpret what we see.  Any damage to the optic nerve, no matter how insignificant, can affect vision.  A normal eye will produce fluid that is essential to the health of the eye, and this fluid drains via a drainage port. With glaucoma, the eye doesn’t drain properly, causing the pressure of the eye to increase.  This pressure, if not managed, will cause damage to the optic nerve, leading to vision problems.  Those with high blood pressure are also more at risk for developing glaucoma.  The problem with glaucoma is that by the time it is diagnosed, the damage may already be done.  Thankfully, continued research has shown that chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor may, in fact, stop the progression of the disease and improve vision.

The Positive Effects of Chiropractic Care for Vision Improvement

If all you associate chiropractic care with is back or neck pain, then you may be wondering just how chiropractic adjustments can affect your vision.  The answer lies within the central nervous system.  The central nervous system is responsible for sending and receiving messages to and from the brain.  These messages tell the body what to do.  Central nervous system function is imperative to overall health and wellness.  Any miscommunication within the CNS can lead to a slew of problems.  Spinal misalignments disrupt nerve communication and can be the source of dysfunction within the body, including glaucoma.  Gentle adjustments from Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic can remove spinal misalignments to restore health and function of the body, specifically the optic nerve.  With regular chiropractic care, vision impairment from glaucoma can be slowed down and sight can improve.  The incredible health benefits of chiropractic care are too good to pass up!

Studies have looked at the science behind chiropractic care specifically for managing glaucoma.  These chiropractic case studies support consistent chiropractic adjustments as a means for improving vision.  One case study looked at a 40-year-old woman with early stages of glaucoma.  Her ophthalmologist recommended chiropractic care to reduce eye pressure. After just 25 visits, it was determined that her intraocular pressure had decreased and progression of the disease had not only stopped but actually reversed.  Another case study focused on a 25-year-old woman with only 2% vision function in one of her eyes.  With regular chiropractic care, her field of vision improved to 20%.

How to Increase Productivity and Decrease Sick Days with Chiropractic Care

Back to school season is here and with it comes more exposure to sickness and germs.  Kids in school can bring home many kinds of illnesses, causing them to miss school and you, as a parent, to miss work.  You might even catch their sickness yourself, causing you to miss even more days of work.  Missing too much school can cause homework to pile up and grades to fall behind.  In addition, missing too much work can affect your productivity and job performance, not to mention your paycheck.  But how can you prevent sickness that decreases productivity?  The answer may surprise you.  While washing hands and limiting exposure is always a good idea, regular chiropractic care from a Bentonville chiropractor can also minimize sick days or even prevent them altogether.

Common On-the-Job or School Complaints

Working at a desk all day at a high-stress job can lead to a multitude of health issues.  It can cause back or neck pain from being hunched over a computer screen for several hours a day.  Students may also experience back pain from sitting at a desk for long periods of time or even from improper use of a backpack.  High stress from the pressures of school or a job can also lead to health issues such as hypertension.  Even emotional stress can become a problem that leads to anxiety or depression.  Thankfully, chiropractic care from Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic can not only address the physical issues, but also the stress that school or work can bring.  Removing spinal misalignments can restore the function of the endocrine system to decrease stress and promote overall health, leading to more productivity at work and fewer missed days of school.

Chiropractic Care Is Proactive

The root cause of illness can often be spinal subluxations.  Spinal health plays an important role in overall health and wellness.  The central nervous system functions at its best when the spine is in proper alignment.  Spinal misalignments only lead to chaos and dysfunction as they cause nerve interference that disrupts the body’s natural ability to communicate with the brain.  This can lead to decreased immune system function, making the body more susceptible to sickness.  With regular visits to Bentonville chiropractor Dr. Tom Niemela, spinal misalignments can be removed through gentle adjustments to correct spinal alignment and restore health.  Not only can this decrease sickness, but improving immune system function may even prevent sickness before it starts.  This proactive form of healthcare will ensure that you can get better more quickly or avoid illness altogether so that students won’t miss many days of school and adults can perform daily at work without falling behind due to illness.

Corporate Wellness Plans Benefit Employers and Employees

Many companies are recognizing the benefits of chiropractic care for their employees.  The benefits of corporate wellness plans allow employees to receive regular chiropractic care to improve overall health and quality of life.  In return, employers are noticing that the number of employees taking sick days is decreasing while overall productivity and focus is increasing.  It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

Don’t let sickness keep you down. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Tom Niemela of Arbor Vitae Chiropractic to experience all that chiropractic care has to offer and stay healthy all year round.
